Assassin's Creed

Distribution 20th Century Fox

Main Actors/Characters

Michael Fassbender as Cal Lynch/ Aguilar
Marion Cotillard as Sofia
Jeremy Irons as Rikkin
Brendan Gleeson as Joseph Lynch
Chrarlotte Rampling as Ellen Kaye

Setting

The movie is set around the world of Cal Lynch a boy witnessing the murder of his Mother then a man sentenced to death via lethal injection.

Summary

Cal Lynch awakens to find himself very much alive he is greeted Sofia who tells him that she needs his help and with the aid of a machine called the animus he begins a journey taking him through 15th century Spain. As some critics have slated the movie you have to remember this movie was never a clone of the game it just used the franchise of the game to create a story to make a movie. I like that it wasn't a clone of the game and that they didn't use the obvious characters such as Desmond or Ezio.

What I Like
I liked the movie in general from the stay true to the game story line to the brilliant chase scene on the roof tops of 15th century Spain.

What I Disliked

Main thing I didn't like about the movie was the having to read the subs when Cal was Aguilar in Spain I understand the relevance as 15th Century Spaniards didn't speak English as there first or second language, but the movie was through Cal Lynches eyes so on the first use of the animus speaking in Spanish was understood,  but once he synced it should have used Cal's first language but that's just my opinion.

3 Months Miles stone

Today my Blog is 3 months old HAPPY BLOGDAY to me, 3 months ago I came out fighting and was psyched up for writing about things I like and projects I was under taking, this was great as I did like attempting to cook, making things and the odd review and of-course playing games on my PC 'not a console fan soz'. Things were going great and my post game thick and fast getting the content out to the masses was something I wanted but was not my end game the whole point of my blog was to record things iv done call it an online diary something to look back on when the day comes I cant remember my own name. So Month one was great month two things sorta dried up or I just got lazy to be honest the dark cold nights loomed and after finishing work all I fancied doing was chilling out by soaking up RADs and killing Raiders on Fallout 4 or getting through my Burn Notice boxed set which I highly recommend if your stuck for something to watch.

I could bore everyone with daily you tube exploits of my progress on Fallout 4 but sadly I have a face for radio and even I wouldn't watch a video without commentary, anyway I'm gonna try and post more but for the present time lets just say iv gone the way of the bear and im hibernating for the Winter.

My Halloween History

Halloween is a great time of the year with monsters, ghosts and tricks or treats, I know my kids love it and we decorate the house the week leading up to Halloween. growing up for me we didn't decorate the house and there was no trick or treat, this was something you heard Americans say on Halloween themed movies and TV shows, for me it was penny for Halloween or penny for the lantern. We used to knock around In a group (now called a gang) we got ready for Halloween by collecting a few turnips unwittingly donated from the farmers field, we then proceeded to hack out the flesh from the turnip, this was like spooning concrete after it had set (we were allowed to use a real kitchen knife and spoon with out the fears of self harm) the flesh was kept as our mams used it for turnip mash.

We then carved the faces mainly triangle eyes and nose with a pointed triangle teeth formed mouth, turnips were like etch a sketch circles were not doable the masks were from the cheapest place possible as they were disposable. Now we were set armed with a couple of turnip lanterns and our scary masks we canvassed door to door with the ever so repetitive words "penny for Halloween" or "penny for the lantern", younger kids like me were the ones who went to the doors the cute factor and all that, oh! and obviously you never just got a penny cause back when I was growing up we still had half pennies yey!. As not to step on the toes of others we always stuck to our own area which covered about 30 to 50 doors, excluding the ones who didn't answer and the ones genuinely not at home we happily came out with enough for an ice cream from the ice cream man and some sweets this was repeated for a few days up to and including Halloween itself. I remember my brother having a horror makeup kit and it did produce some pretty good fake scars and injuries.

I remember Halloween being a happy time we used to go out with out parental supervision and there was more of a community so everyone knew everyone else sadly something lacking in today's society.

Monsters Psychos and Movies

Horror movie characters are things of nightmares even more so after you have just watched the movie. Going back to the great days of black & white I used to love watching horror movies late at night sure they used to be on BBC with Boris Karloff's Frankenstein, Bela Lugosi's Dracula and Lon Chaney Jr.'s Wolfman, these were classic no gory effects and the a text book story line by todays standards there rather comical but if you didnt know any difference this was the norm. After this I got into watching the Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee team up, Lee as the fearsome Dracula and Cushing as the ever pursuing Van Helsing.

You have to understand that with out the pioneers of the early horror movies we would not have the plethora of Movie monsters, demons and others creatures that we have now.

The 80's were a great era for franchise horror villains beginning with Michael Myers the never dying villain from the Halloween Movies the skin mask wearing 6 and a bit feet tall, slightly overweight knife wielding murderous stalker, and next is the similarly hockey mask wearing knife wielding unkillable Jason Voorhees the villain from the Friday the 13th movies and finally who could forget the 3rd degree burn scarred blade glove wielding janitor from Elm Street non other then Freddy Krueger who killed you in your sleep I remember the rhyme from the movie

"One Two Freddies coming for you,
Three Four better lock your door,
Five Six grab your crucifix,
Seven Eight gonna stay up late,
Nine Ten  never sleep again"

I remember watching these movies in my early to mid teens best time of life to be scared witless defiantly know iv not seen all the movies from these 3 but they did get worse as they went along so I didn't miss much.

Now if you thought the three before were scary there nothing compare to the horror mind scares below Stephen King's miniseries IT saw the loosers club being tormented by Pennywise the clown, iv heard a remake of IT is being made just hope Hollywood dont ruin this movies like countless other remakes. Pennywise the child killing clown is as scary as they come when it comes to messing with your head, and speaking of heads next is Pinhead the once man who solved the puzzle box and for it had his face grid sectioned and nails pierced into his skull. Finally Samara Morgan an eight year old girl who but a whole new twist on 3D TV physically climbing out your TV she is one mixed up kid.

I know the monsters pictured from the 80's and 90's were not that scary to some but its how they got in your head there are a lot of mind messing movies out there and a lot more scary monsters iv just chosen a few of my personal fav's from growing up.

And last but by no means least my best psychos, the people we could be if our brains were wired up wrong. Norman Bates the motel owner how kept his dead mothers remains in her room and was instructed by her to kill the female motel guests, next up Jack Torrance a winter caretaker in a hotel staying there with his family Jack is haunted my physic premonitions turning him into a raging nut job this movies comes with the classic line "here's Jonny", and the last man you want to go have dinner with is Hannibal Lecter this is a man who could be your neighbour and you would never know till he is munching on your barbecued ribs with a nice bottle of chianti.

There are thousands of horror movies out there with their own monsters and psychos in them so this Halloween dig out up the scariest movies you know or the ones you swore never to watch and have a Halloween fright fest, oh! and be brave and watch them alone at night in the dark, Enjoy!!

A toy a toy my childhood for a toy Pt3. Lego Special

Lego the building blocks of a childhood, Lego for just about every kid was the freedom to let your imagination go wild. The simplest of ideas turned out to be adventures. Lego when I was young to be honest is something I cant remember much of, the one thing that stands out in my empty void of a brain is Lego space I definitely know I had those as to exactly which ones errrr! I don't have a clue. The Lego spacemen of my day were pioneers out there in the depths of Lego space and they didn't even need visors for their helmets not like the soft arsed spacemen kids have now.

I think every parent has rekindled some part of their youth when playing with Lego with their children I know I have, my youngest daughter is now 9 yrs and she still loves creating with the Lego she has this fascination of making wheel chairs or Lego leg casts for her dolls. I like to believe she will be a doctor when shes older but due to the other things she gets up to i'm thinking more Spy. My only negative regarding Lego would be the cost of it, one half decent kit your looking at around £40-£60 which to me is pricey. Lego is another one of those toys that can happily stand the test of time be nice to think kids will still be playing with it 100 years from now.

Ballsed up Meatballs

Monday tea time I though id make pasta and meatballs I mean how hard can it be, so got myself some minced beef and had the other ingredients already, I cracked on and
got everything prepared I say prepared opened a packet of mince, defrosted some frozen onions opened two tins of sweetcorn and chopped up a tub of mushrooms sooo! time consuming.

So then I got to making the meatballs threw the mince beef into a bowl sprinkled some mixed herbs, salt and pepper added a little oil the grabbed my meat in my hand and game it a roll, repeated it a few times until I used up all the mince and my balls were all ready.

Frying time, first I fried off the meatballs they were big balls and took a while to cook, after a few minutes I took one of the balls out cut it through the middle and realised that they weren't cooking in the middle so my big balls all had to be chopped in half so that they would cook all the way through and avoid giving my family food poisoning.

Next fried off the mushrooms in the meat juices and stuck some fusilli pasta on. Once everything was cooked through I added it to the pasta along with the sauce to jars of Dolmio sauce and mixed it all together.

Next I put some garlic and tomato bread in the oven and let the meatball pasta simmer. Once the bread was ready I dished it up and wolfed it down it was rather nice if I do say so myself and no one go food poison either.

Setting

The Movie begins and ends on the starbase Yorktown main part is on a planet in uncharted space.

Summary

Star Trek Beyond is the third in the line of the new Star Trek movies. The movie begins with Kirk narrating his thoughts on how boring time in space is becoming during the five year mission. The Enterprise is on its way to the Yorktown a proper head Feck of a star base (you'll understand when you watch the movie), whilst there an unidentified craft is detected on the scans, its an escape pod with an alien on board, I say alien as I missed what the species was. The pod is taken on board the star base were Kirk talks with the alien using a universal translator and is informed that the aliens ship is stranded in the nebular of uncharted space. The Enterprise is sent off to help the alien retrieve the ship you would think Starfleet only had one ship. The crew reach the nebular and navigate safely through it and then the alien informs them the ship is on the planet in front of them, at the same time Chekov reports a proximity alert, an unknown ship heading for them. Fist looks of the ship its one big assed ship but as it begins attacking the Enterprise you realise its a swarm of smaller ships and boy what a swarm. The swarm begins tearing through the Enterprise like a hot knife through butter first goes the shields and then the warp engines. Oh! no the Enterprise is helpless drifting as the onslaught continues, but just as it couldn't get any worse it does the attacking aliens begin boarding the Enterprise and take down the crew as fast as a warp 6 engine. The crew are left with no choice but to abandon ship, escape pods begin ejecting only to be snatched up by the swarm only a few pods manage to make it to the planet bet you cant guess who's inside them. Split up the uncaptured crew are hiding on the planet left wondering what happened and are the rest of the crew alive or dead.

What I Liked

The movie was just like the last two movies absolutely brilliant and the special FX outstanding great action.

What I Disliked

I felt that the story was not to dissimilar from the first movie the super imposing alien craft kicking the Enterprises ass and the oh! scary Federation destroying bio WMD (weapon of mass destruction). Also the witty one liners were few and far between.
